Rural Women Economic Empowerment program

RAFO works with rural community women to advance their economic right and opportunities through capacity building, women led and women focused community projects and advocacy for women’s economic rights. The program is focused more on persons with disabilities, widows, grandmothers, refugees, internally displaced persons, adolescent girls and young women. We empower these vulnerable persons to economically sustain themselves using the community driven and human rights approaches. We focus on economic rights including rights to own property, land rights and breaking social cultural barriers affecting women’s and other vulnerable groups’ economic rights. Community driven model allows us to work with communities to design economic empowerment programs acceptable in any community setting. The programs include; agriculture, business skills, technical and vocational skills trainings and others.
