Refugee Technology and Host Community Innovation

Under this project, RAFO partners and welcomes technology and development ideas from youth, document their ideas and link them to mentors including University students in science and technology courses to work with them on the ideas. The mentors train, advise and provide technical support and RAFO provides platforms to show case their ideas to different stake holders and community gatherings. Currently working on the robotics idea where refugees and host rural community youth work together to develop robots as solutions to daily real life problems. This promotes peaceful co-existence between refugees and the host community. It is also a psychosocial support tool for refugee children and youth as it helps them forget the war traumas as they dedicate their time on such projects. It also promotes science technology and innovation which are key in development.
