Board of Directors

RAFO is led by a gender inclusive team of five board of directors with both technical and leadership experience acquired through different work experiences and education backgrounds from different countries.

ACHOLA CAROLINE

Ms. Caroline Akello is a social worker, health advocate and a women and youth activist. She serves as chair person Board for Rural Aid Foundation. She has worked at Days for girls under the Global Health Corps programs in Uganda as a programs officer to educate girls and empower women to thrive as leaders in their communities through hygiene and sexual reproductive health and rights programs. She has led teams of women groups in Northern, Eastern and Western Uganda in reproductive health trainings to develop their leadership potential.

DARYL STEPHENS

Daryl Stephens is an applied medical anthropologist specializing in sexual and reproductive health and passionate about access to affordable, accessible, and equitable health care. Daryl holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Applied Anthropology fro USA. She has experience in coordinating and working with international teams, developing institutional and community partnerships, and conducting mixed-methods research in the USA and Uganda.

SHARON BRIGHT AMANYA

Sharon Bright Amanya is a Ugandan Immunologist and Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Lira University. She holds a mastersdegree in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology and a bachelor of science in Nursing from Makerere University, Kampala. She is passionate about infectious disease prevention and her ultimate goal is to make prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases more accurate, affordable and accessible in low-income settings.

SAGAREE JAIN

Sagaree Jain (they/them) is a writer, researcher, non profit worker, and poet from the Silicon Valley. They graduated with a degree in History and a minor in English from the University of California at Berkeley. They are currently an MPH student at Berkeley and work as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Othering and Belonging Institute in the USA. Sagaree served as a John Gardner Fellow at Human Rights Watch, researching best practices in human rights interviewing and rights violations in HIV service delivery in Malaysia.

DR. PROSPER AHIMBISIBWE

Prosper Ahimbisibwe is a medical doctor on a mission to create a happy and healthier world. He is a Global Shaper under the World Economic Forum and a Young Emerging Leaders Project Fellow with the Leo Africa Institute. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and is a Co-founder of MSCAN Uganda-an organization develops low cost mobile ultrasound devices for pregnant mothers in resource scarce environments.
