Rural Aid Foundation (RAFO) was founded in 2013 originally as a rural community support, research, advocacy and a social integral platform between refugees and Ugandan rural host communities in Kyangwali refugee settlement in Western Uganda. Read More...Unemployment is the biggest challenge facing vulnerable rural communities like women, youth, and person with disabilities in Uganda. Through the community driven model, RAFO lets such communities identify possible employment avenues and then build their capacities through trainings in business management, providing and advocating for access to start-up capital for the most “vulnerable persons” and many others. Rural Girl child Education (RGE) Project is making wonders

Many refugee girls and rural community girls in Uganda drop out of school due to early and unplanned pregnancies and other economic and social barriers. RAFO has provided an opportunity to have them back in school formally or informally through advocating for adult education programs and accelerated learning programs. We are also doing much in creating awareness in rural communities to break the social barriers that limit access to education through dialogue and engagement with religious, clan, family, parents and guardians.
